10 shortest players in EPL

Who is the shortest player in the EPL? The English Premier League is full of players of all ages, speeds, and heights; young and old, swift and sluggish, tall and short. Here is a list of ten Premier League players that are the shortest, among others – 10 shortest players in EPL.

Tariq Lamptey is the shortest player in EPL with a height of 5ft3, the Ghanaian descent came up from the Chelsea academy in 2019, making into the first team. He could not make it into the Chelsea senior team and left for Brighton in January 2020 and he has since plied his trade at the English club.

Ryan Fraser is a 30 year old Scottish winger playing for Southampton. The 5ft3 winger started out his career in Aberdeen before moving to Bournemouth in 2013; he spent seven years at the English club before making a permanent move to Newcastle in the 2020/2021 season. His loan move to Southampton last season convinced the club to make it a permanent move for the 2024/2025. Ryan Fraser is 5ft3.9 making him the 2nd shortest player in EPL

Ian Matseen is another player who came through the Chelsea academy but could not secure his spot in the senior team. After loan spells to Charlton, Coventry and Burnley, he had his luck during his fourth loan spell with Dortmund where he reached the Champions League final and made the Champions league team of the season. He right back who now plays with Aston Villa, is just 5ft4 in height making him the 3rd shortest player in EPL

The fourth on the list is Arsenal’s new sensational youngster, Ethan Nwaneri. The Nigerian descent just broke in through the Arsenal academy into the first team. His height of 5ft4 can be attributed to his very young age of seventeen, and as a matter of fact it’s quite okay for a seventeen year old.

Tyrell Malacia, a Dutch left back, currently plays for Manchester United. Malacia joined the Manchester-based team from Feyenoord in 2022 and had a promising start before suffering a setback owing to injury issues. However, the Dutchman has returned and is fighting for a position in the squad.

Rico Henry is an English footballer who plays left back for Brentford. He joined Walsall’s senior team at the age of sixteen and played there until 2016, when he moved to Brentford.
He has since played for the English team, helping them go from the Championship to Premier League promotion few seasons ago.

Rico Lewis is a 2004 born English footballer, playing for Manchester city as a full back or a defensive midfielder. The player, who is of Jamaican descent, broke into the City senior team in 2022. Rico Lewis signed a five year contract in 2023, tying him to the club for long term.

Lewis Potter started of his senior career at Hull City in 2019, after a loan spell at Bradford; he finally broke into the Hull City first team. He played on for Hull city until 2022 when he moved to Brentford. He scored his first goal for Brentford in a win against Aston Villa.

Harvey Elliot is a twenty one year old midfielder who plays as both an attacking midfielder and right winger for Liverpool Football Club. He had an incredible passion for football at an early age and supported Liverpool FC at an early age. He joined Queens Park Rangers at early age after being turned down by Chelsea for being “too small”. Elliot was later signed by Fulham where he made his first team debut in 2018. He would go on to sign for Liverpool in 2018 for an undisclosed fee where he would make his official debut in September in the EFL cup.

Cresswell is an English footballer as a left back for West Ham United. Cresswell started his career in the Liverpool academy where he was released at the age of 15. He would later join Tramere Rovers in July 2008. Despite his height, he impressed and was sought by numerous clubs including Ipswich who eventually signed the player in 2011. He performed well and was later signed was West Ham in 2014 on a five year contract. He has contributed immensely to the development of the team winning various individual awards along the way such as Hammer of the Year and Players Player of the Year.
